Rugby

Citipointe has proven to be a competitive opponent in The Ballymore Cup – a knockout competition in which we participate. The season is also made up of organised matches against other Colleges which provides our students with a high level of competition. Citipointe Rugby is supported by Sunnybank Rugby with expert coaching and training.

Rugby is one of the College’s Focus Sports and therefore continues to be among the school’s largest and most supported co-curricular activities.

Boys have an opportunity to participate in Rugby from Year 8 through to Year 12. The season is played in Terms 2 & 3 with pre-season training in Term 1.  This preparation involves strength & conditioning, skill and tactical work which equips them for competition beginning in Term 2.

Citpointe produces representative players annually who compete at Met-East and State level. This can be credited to the high level of coaching the players receive through Citipointe Staff and Sunnybank Rugby.

Citipointe has an enthusiastic group of supporters which includes parents, other family, staff and past and current students.

At the season’s conclusion a formal awards dinner is held for all players and their families.

Citipointe Rugby builds boys to men and prepares them for life by teaching them skills, teamwork, perseverance, tenacity and mateship for life; to get back up and never give up.
