Year 3 kicks the year off with a bang, delving into Solids and Liquids in our first Science unit and Times are changing in History. In Christian Studies we look in depth at a range of Christian character traits. Easy to learn about, hard to apply but that’s the challenge we put to the students for their year ahead.
The second Science unit is called, Is it alive? Geography takes us on a journey as we examine amazing physical features of Australia in our unit The Land Down Under. In Christian Studies we consider different levels of community and the massive effect that each of us can have for God’s kingdom here on earth, when we work together, using the gifts that we have each been given.
Our next Science unit, called Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot is where we explore heat. In History, it’s Celebration! We learn about different celebrations in Australia and the importance of celebrating our diverse cultures within Australia. Our Christian Studies unit has us delving deep into particular passages of scripture on the theme of understanding each other and working together.
Our eyes turn heavenward in Unit 4 when we look into space to discover the wonders of the Day and Night. We actually take a virtual journey into space at the Brisbane Planetarium which provides more breath-taking experiences. In our final Geography unit we look at Australia’s neighbours. To finish the year in Christian Studies, we use the bible to find examples to help us live our lives, as heroes for God.
