Homestay – Students arriving soon

When the doors of our home opened, so did our hearts.

Homestay is a great opportunity for local Christian families to support Citipointe’s international students during their time in Brisbane. Opening their doors, homestay families also open their hearts and offer a safe and loving environment to these students, whilst experiencing a diversity of cultures for their family members. This support allows students to develop, achieve and enjoy their educational season at the College.

Over the past 15 years, Citipointe Christian College International has welcomed hundreds of students from across Asia, Europe and South Africa to our world class facilities to develop their English language skills before entering the mainstream education program. The continued success of the program sees a growing number of international families sending their treasured students to our campus to help prepare them for the best future possible.

The homestay experience has proven to be a memorable and pivotal time for both the students and families alike. With students varying from short-term study groups to long term placements, our homestay families have reported great family experiences with their international students and have established valued relationships that often span years after the student’s educational visit has passed. Past homestay families have reported memorable trips to Asia to visit their past student’s family and some have even received invitations to international celebrations, such as weddings. It is great to hear of such wonderful homestay experiences.

In return for providing accommodation, meals and supervision, homestay families earn $1200 per month per student.

With new students arriving in July, we would like to offer interested families this great opportunity to become part of the Citipointe homestay community.

“We have loved having a homestay student. It’s been a really great experience for our family. Our kids have the opportunity to learn about someone else and the country they come from. Conversation is always interesting and to learn about someone else’s life firsthand is priceless. Homestay has been a very memorable experience for all our family.”
