STEM Primary Code Clubs
Increasingly the terminology STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and 21stcentury skills are being discussed in relation to education and the future. Twenty-first century skills require individuals to be able to work collaboratively and creatively, be reflective, think and reason systematically and problem solve, while having a high degree of competency with technology.
Citipointe Christian College offers Years 3-6 students a weekly coding opportunity through Code Clubs. Currrently there are 3:

Years 5 and 6 – Wednesday after school 3:30 – 4:30pm
Australian STEM Video Game Challenge
Throughout Terms 1- 3, Years 5 and 6 students will work towards creating a game for the STEM Video Game Challenge, a national competition offered to Years 5-12 students. The Challenge allows students to work individually or in small groups to design an interactive, stimulating and meaningful game, allowing them a real world opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge of STEM.
